Hackers attack key government website
Govtalk.gov.uk, an official website linked to the government’s cabinet office, was attacked by hackers and brought down early this morning.
LONDON (Brand Republic) - Govtalk.gov.uk, an official website linked to the government’s cabinet office, was attacked by hackers and brought down early this morning.
The site was launched as part of the cabinet office’s e-Government Interoperability Framework to provide easy online access to government information.

The site was inaccessible at the time of going to press, as operators tried to deal with the problem.
A spokesperson from the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency, the agency that the government’s websites, confirmed that the problem was caused by hackers and was unable to say when the site would be back online.
