Crossroads soap faces axe for a second time
LONDON - Revived ITV soap Crossroads could face the axe after viewing figures halved in the two months since its relaunch in March.
The show's comeback -- 13 years after it originally went off air -- attracted 5m viewers. Last week, the show attracted a miserly 1.4m for the afternoon show and 1.8m in the early evening.Viewers are believed to be disappointed that the new series failed to feature Benny, the woolly hatted handyman from the original series.

A new set, steamy story lines and a glamorous young cast have failed to win back the loyal following the series once enjoyed. Speculation is mounting that the show could be replaced by Trafalgar Road, a new soap starring former New Avenger Gareth Hunt alongside Lesley Joseph, who is famous for her role as Dorian from Birds of a Feather.
