Parker Bishop and TNS Tellex outline merger proposals

PR Week UK 29-Mar-02

Media intelligence company TNS Tellex is to merge with its fellow subsidiary firm, Parker Bishop, and is to rebrand as TNS Media Intelligence.

The merger is part of a global rebranding strategy by the organisations' parent company, Taylor Nelson Sofres, which is overhauling its UK media intelligence interests.

TNS Tellex regional operations will fall under a centralised management to make them more efficient for clients, according to TNS Intelligence MD Nigel Foote.

'The rebranding and pooling of services is a consequence of our investment programme,' he added. 'We will now deliver in-depth and proactive intelligence on how brands are presented and fostered through the media.'

The merger, effective from next week, will extend the network of eight existing regional offices. TNS bought Tellex and Parker Bishop in December 1999 and is the world's fourth-largest marketing information group.
