MEDIA BRIEFS: BBC World Service appoints head of African services
WORLD SERVICE: The BBC World Service has appointed Yusuf Garaad Omar as head of African services. He has been head of the BBC World Service Somali section since 1999. FM quality service and demand for interactivity across that continent are growing, he said. Yusuf will report to Barry Langridge, head of Africa and Middle East region.
