Former Cannes CEO takes global role at Euro RSCG
NEW YORK - Euro RSCG Worldwide has hired former Cannes Lions CEO Romain Hatchuel as its director of global new business.
He will have a brief to work with the network's strategic and business development teams, on a global, regional and local level. His appointment comes as Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, the network's London agency, confirmed it had made its new business director Emma Trotman redundant.

Hatchuel announced he was leaving the Cannes International Advertising Festival in February last year, and helped to hire his replacement, Franz Prenner. Prenner, formerly managing director of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation's sales house ORF Enterprise, took up his new role in January this year.
The festival has been dogged by controversy recently over where it would be staged this year. The organisers had been threatening to move it out of Cannes to Barcelona or Venice. More recently, Ogilvy & Mather said its entire network could boycott the festival over the issue of "scam" advertisements -- that is, ads that are entered for awards, but have never actually run.
Hatchuel headed the Cannes Lions for four years, along with Roger Hatchuel, chairman of the festival and Romain's father. Bob Schmetterer, chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide, said Hatchuel's experience made him "uniquely capable of approaching potential clients".
