Andy Coulson succeeds Wade at News of the World
LONDON - Andy Coulson, the deputy editor of the News of the World, is understood to have been named to succeed Rebekah Wade, who was yesterday appointed editor of The Sun.
There was no official confirmation from News International, but Coulson was one of two names linked to the job.
The other name linked to the post was Fergus Shanahan, deputy to David Yelland, who left the editor's chair at The Sun yesterday.

Coulson, a former editor of The Sun's Bizarre page, was brought to the News of the World from The Sun by Wade after she was named editor in 2000.
Coulson also enjoyed a spell after Bizarre as chief content officer at News International's internet arm, News Network. Coulson was responsible for overseeing the creative content of the site, as well as the online editions of The Sun and News of The World.
