Levi's names top Europe marketer

Levi's is creating a single pan-European marketing department and has promoted retail director Sue Chidler to European marketing director.

Chidler will take control of a centralised department at the company, which previously divided responsibility between Northern and Southern Europe.

Rachel Johnson, who oversaw the Northern Europe division that includes the UK, is to take a sabbatical. It is unclear what will happen to the Southern European arm.

Chidler will be responsible for all marketing and her introduction is likely to lead to a restructure of the division.

She will streamline decision-making within the company and work with all its agencies, including creative agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty in the UK.

Chidler will report to Levi Strauss European brand president Kenny Wilson.
