Dixons signs two-year partnership with ScreenSelect

LONDON - Dixons Group has signed a two-year partnership with online DVD rental service ScreenSelect.co.uk.

The electronic retailer has launched a DVD rental site in partnership with ScreenSelect and will promote the service in its 200 stores and through its website.

The service will offer 21 days' unlimited DVD rentals free to all Dixons customers. To register for the deal, customers pick up literature in-store, visit the website and enter a code.

Alex Chesterman, chairman of ScreenSelect.co.uk, said: "By giving us access to millions of Dixons shoppers each year, this deal really has the ability to grow the online DVD market in the UK."

He added: "We believe that Dixons and Currys, who will also offer access through the new Currys Movies website are the ideal partners."

John Mewett, marketing manager at Dixons, said: "We are very excited about the growth prospects for the for the online DVD rental market here in the UK and are pleased to be able to bring this to the mass market through our new partnership with ScreenSelect.co.uk."

For £14.99 a month, ScreenSelect allows subscribers to rent unlimited DVDs, holding up to three DVDs at any one time.
