Westminster hits out at fly-posting
Westminster City Council has launched a campaign to combat illegal fly-posting.
On average, there are ten fly-poster campaigns launched in Westminster every week, amounting to over 1,000 posters, which cost the council £250,000 a year to remove. Head of comms Alex Aiken said: ‘People take diabolical liberties with our walls.’

The campaign kicked off with postcards sent to CEOs of companies fly-posting illegally in the borough. The CEOs have been asked to write out ‘behaviour cards’ and promise to stop putting the posters up.
Neighbouring Camden Council recently threatened music industry bosses with anti-social behaviour orders (ASBOs) after they continuously flouted fly-posting regulations in the borough.
