VisitBritain mag to focus on food

A magazine promoting the best of the nation's food and drink is to become Visit-Britain's latest tourist lure.

Taste England, a 64-page title published by Square One Group, will be distributed via regional tourist board centres and on request from the VisitBritain website.

The initiative comes in response to demands from holidaymakers for culinary information, according to a VisitBritain spokesman.

Content for the title, edited by former Waitrose Seasons managing editor Jo Swinnerton, will cover the modern and traditional, from restaurants to farmers markets.

VisitBritain was formed in 2003 from the merger of the British Tourist Authority and English Tourism Council.
