IPC editors swap places to revitalise women's titles
LONDON – In an unusual move, IPC Media editors Julie Barton-Breck and Karen Livermore are changing places to breathe fresh life into their magazines.
Barton-Breck, the editor of Family Circle, will trade roles with Livermore, the editor of Essentials.
Linda Swindenbank, the publishing director, said the move would enable the editors to use their skills and experience to bring fresh insight to the two magazines.

Barton-Breck has edited Family Circle for 18 months, having joined from Safeway Magazine. Before that she worked at Prima.
Livermore has edited Essentials for seven years, having joined from the Daily Star.
Swindenbank said: "Despite all the competing covermounts in the broader women's market, the general lifestyle sector can achieve notable sales with the right editorial package. These changes will really allow us to deliver on the potential of both brands."
Family Circle had a circulation of 162,178 copies in the first quarter of the year, while Essentials sold 150,402 copies, according to ABC figures.
