Colman's gives range of dry sauces a facelift

Unilever Bestfoods has updated its Colman's dry sauces range to emphasise the products' quality and improve brand recognition.

The name has been made more prominent, with packs featuring a bigger yellow Colman's logo that folds over the top of the sachets.

Design Bridge, the branding agency behind the facelift, has also increased the space given to on-pack food photography, with images designed to give the impression of quality while doubling as recipe cards.

Colman's hopes to gain ground on sauce market leader Dolmio, which experienced an 18.5% increase in sales value in the 12 months to June 2003.

Colman's is the UK’s second-biggest sauce brand, and the biggest dry cook-in sauce brand, with a 1.7% rise in sales over the same period, according to Information Resources.
