LONDON - The new film 'Open Water', based on the true story of a couple who disappeared on a diving trip, is being promoted by a website created by Greenroom Digital.

The site hosts a trailer of the film and gives details of the real-life incident on which it is based. It shows two lone characters bobbing up and down on shark-infested waves.

Along with information about the film, which has been described as 'Blair Witch Project' meets 'Jaws', the website gives facts about sharks.

The Sun Online is the official site of the movie and is featuring the title heavily in the run-up to release.

The movie is also being promoted via a television and print advertising campaign, and with a competition to win a scuba diving trip, which users can sign up for online.

The scuba divers were left off the coast of Australia in shark-infested waters after a diving tour boat left them behind. The film, which opens on September 9, uses little-known actors and eschewed computer-generated special effects for real sharks, which were manipulated with chunks of meat. The film is directed by Chris Kentis and is distributed by Redbus.

Jon Hamm, creative director at Greenroom, said: "We are excited to be working with Redbus again on such a fantastic film. The site is purposely designed to play on the chilling reality of 'Open Water' and we hope this comes across to the user."

No one knows what happend to the real couple with only part of a wetsuit found, complete with bite marks.
