LONDON – Harlequin Mills & Boon has updated the cover design of its series of historical romances, which completes the repackaging of its series of romance lines.

The update, by Reach, is the first design change to the historical romance series since mid 2000.

Harlequin Mills & Boon publishes 55 romance books each month under two imprints (Mills & Boon and Silhouette), five of which are historical romance titles.

Lousie Tranter, product manager at Harlequin Mills & Boon, said that the packaging evolution attempts to differentiate between the series, but also within each series.

"For example, in our Historical Romance line we publish different time periods such as Regency, Medieval, Westerns, etc. Each cover now includes visual cues within the brand architecture to indicate to readers the era the story represents."
