Poor Christmas trading hits Morrisons coverage

Wm Morrison this week crashed to the bottom of PRWeek’s Reputation Monitor after the supermarket chain admitted it was losing market share to rivals Tesco and Asda.

While Tesco and Asda held on to their respective first and second positions, Morrisons warned that its growth would be more subdued this year.

The National Health Service filled the fourth-worst spot after it emerged that a chronic shortage of midwives was causing some women in labour to be left without medical supervision for up to two hours at a time.

Reputation Monitor is compiled from Thomson Intermedia’s National News Index, a measure of media sentiment that excludes stock market reports.
