Disability body helps organisers
The Disability Rights Commission (DRC) has launched a guide for event organisers looking to comply with new requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act.
Creating Accessible Events provides advice and tips for organisers. Since 1 October 2004 venues have been required to consider accessibility and make changes where necessary.
DRC chairman Bert Massie said organisers could gain from a better understanding of accessibility: "It is not just a legal requirement, it is good business sense as well."
