Shaw has established 'The Tracy Shaw Foundation', launching today, which will represent an education service for schools tackling the issues surrounding eating disorders.
Supported by The Evening News and Granada Television, the Foundation launch is set to coincide with the government-led summit focussing on the impact of waif-like images on children and young women.
The government will carry a release for the Foundation in its official pack. Further support is being given on the web sites of Granada and the Evening News.
The idea for the Foundation came during a meeting with Janice Troup, Granada's chief press officer and Maggie Henfield, features editor on the paper, following the huge reaction to Shaw's candid appearance on the Trevor McDonald Tonight programme.
