Yacht race team seeks sponsors
The British team hoping to compete in the Volvo Ocean Race, the round-the-world yacht competition, is seeking a £6m sponsorship deal to avoid missing out on entering this year's event.
The team, which is headed by America's Cup skipper Lawrie Smith, needs to secure a sponsor within the next two months to launch a syndicate in time for the November start.
The news comes a week after Kingfisher claimed that its B&Q and Castorama brands netted up to £100m in media coverage from the group's £10m sponsorship of Ellen MacArthur, which it has held since 1998.
