Royal Mail boosts changes file with help of Experian

Royal Mail will be adding an average of 10,000-15,000 more names every month to its Business Changes File by adding data from Experian.

These will include companies flagged up as 'in receivership' and 'moved', as well as additional information such as why a company moved and the date of its postal redirection and actual final move.

Royal Mail head of data development Shaun Randles said: "The updates will improve precision by letting customers track existing businesses and by identifying start-ups."

Other improvements include the corporate TPS running each month across the business universe and greater accuracy on the size and type of each company.
