Trisha to go head to head with Springer as Five confirms move to morning slot
LONDON - Five has confirmed it is moving chatshow 'Trisha Goddard' to a morning slot, where it will go head to head with ITV's new morning offering, to be hosted by Jerry Springer.
The move means that host Trisha Goddard will be back in the slot that brought her to fame in the UK, as the host of ITV's 'Trisha'. She worked on the show for six years before being poached by Five last October in a £5m deal.

'Trisha Goddard' will now go out at 9.25am, followed at 10.30am by The Wright Stuff. Five's announcement comes less than a week after ITV revealed that it had signed Jerry Springer to host a talkshow in the old 'Trisha' slot. It is due to start filming in May with the show going out in the summer. A four-week run will initially be commissioned.
'Trisha Goddard' will move to the 9.25am slot starting Monday April 11.
Kim Peat, controller of daytime, arts and religion at Five, said: "This is a really strong daytime line-up on Five; having the twin pairing of 'Trisha Goddard' and 'The Wright Stuff' leading to the news gives a high energy kick-start to the day, which I know our viewers will appreciate."
Five promised that Trisha would continue to tackle the usual fare of age gaps and fiery relationships when the show moves. She was notorious at ITV for revealing the results of hundreds of paternity tests and outing the UK's serial love cheats.
