Four months after leaving, Meadows-Klue is back at IAB

LONDON - Just four months after announcing he was leaving the Interactive Advertising Bureau to concentrate on developing his own consultancy, Danny Meadows-Klue is back at the trade body, this time as chief executive of IAB Europe.

Meadows-Klue was previously chief executive of IAB UK, a role that was taken over by Guy Phillipson in January this year. He was also president of IAB Europe, a role he held for three terms before passing it to Italy, where Layla Pavone now holds the title.

He revealed he was stepping down from the body in November, saying at the time that he planned to spend more time working for his own marketing services company, Digital Strategy Consulting.

In his new role, he will help IAB Europe to expand by completing an action plan for the body's development.

"Online is now a mainstream consumer medium across Europe but many clients are yet to tap into the real power of the web. Helping marketers across Europe gain the very best insights is critical, and the expanding IAB Europe will help answer this need," Meadows-Klue said.

Prior to joining the IAB full time, Meadows-Klue was publisher of the Electronic Telegraph and a director at Hollinger New Media. He had helped run the Telegraph's network of websites since January 1996.

According to Pavone: "We are delighted Danny has accepted this new fundamental role in this growing association. It gives us continuity in IAB Europe and taps into his unique experience in growing the IAB. With his support, we will expand the activities of IAB Europe, allowing us to go ahead with even more ambitious programmes."

Further expansion plans will be announced throughout the year.
