Beckhams to plough on with legal action over News of the World exclusive
LONDON – David and Victoria Beckham are considering legal action over revelations made in the News of the World by their former nanny, after failing in an eleventh hour bid to halt the story, which the paper splashed yesterday.
The Beckhams had tried to gain an emergency High Court injunction preventing the tabloid publishing the interview with former nanny Abbie Gibson on grounds of confidentiality.
However, this was thrown out by High Court judge Mr Justice Langley on Saturday, after lawyers from the newspaper convinced him the story was in the public interest.

Following the decision, a spokesperson for the couple said: "We are consulting with our lawyers with a view to taking legal action."
Quoted in the paper yesterday, News of the World legal manager Tom Crone said: "The Beckhams have spent a lot of their lives basking in a warm glow of publicity, which they have created for themselves.
"For the first time, the world can now read an insiders' detailed account about what their marriage is really like."
The story was carried across seven pages in late editions of the paper and contained fresh allegations surrounding the state of the couple's marriage.
It gave more details of an alleged affair that Beckham had with beautician Danielle Heath, who it has been previously claimed had an affair with the Real Madrid midfielder. It also suggested the player had liasons with other women.
The story went on to detail rows the Beckhams had and that David at one stage wanted out of the marriage.
Gibson alleges the couple's marriage is in a precarious state but a source close to the couple told the Daily Mirror today that their relationship has since improved following the birth of their third child Cruz.
The Sun carries further reports of the couple today, including how the two had separate beds and that Victoria did not trust her husband to be alone.
