Reuters poaches Telegraph.co.uk's Faircliff for digital consumer push
LONDON - Reuters.co.uk has appointed Telegraph.co.uk's Tim Faircliff as its first general manager, a role created as the media giant attempts to significantly grow its consumer audience.
Faircliff, who joins this autumn from Telegraph.co.uk where he has the same title, will manage news services across online, mobile and interactive television media.
He will also manage product and site development, sales and marketing as well as relationships with partners.

Reuters.co.uk head Alisa Bowen, to whom Faircliff will report, said: "We are at the start of an exciting new chapter. Reuters has always been a major media brand and by now making more of our information directly available to people we are able to build a new audience for our news.
"Tim's publishing experience for one of the UK's most prominent news brand will be invaluable in helping us drive our digital media service and grow audience share."
Last month, Reuters extended its mobile news service in the UK and US by making the offering available to 70 different models of phone. The service can be downloaded by typing mobile.reuters.co.uk on the phone's internet browser.
