NEW LISTS - CONSUMER


GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY


The Golden Opportunity list of buyers is available for the first time through Evolution DM. The file holds 35,000 0-3-month individuals who have paid £20 to £25 to receive a Cash & Prize Sweeps Report which details prize values of up to £1,000,000. Buyers are aged 50-plus, are either married or widowed, and have grandchildren. Their household income is up to £20,000 and they have taken out various financial plans, such as ISAs, private healthcare, accident insurance and funeral plans. They also read tabloid newspapers and are interested in classical music, crosswords/puzzles, bowls, dancing, collectables and holidays abroad. Buyers have been recruited via direct mail.

FIREBOX


EDM Media has released the Firebox file of 96,404 mail order buyers.


Firebox is a mail order company that offers gadgets, party games, gifts and retro products. Buyers are recruited via the Firebox mail order catalogue and website. Some 63 per cent is male and individuals are mostly aged between 25 and 49. Most earn £25,000-plus, are homeowners and 85 per cent are credit card users. Average order value is £50 and their interests include fashion, foreign travel, home computing and the internet, stocks and shares, the theatre, arts and wine.


Base rental price: £110 per 1,000.

ASSOCIATION OF TRAIN OPERATING COMPANIES


The Association of Train Operating Companies has made its 680,000-plus consumer records available through Holistic List Management. The file offers 238,843 Young Persons Railcard records and the majority of these individuals live at home with their parents. They are spenders rather than savers and are interested in travelling, environmental charities and technology. More than 300,000 are Senior Railcard holders - the majority of whom are females that enjoy visiting National Trust properties, the theatre and concerts and are willing to pay more for environmentally friendly products. The additional 136,025 Family Railcard holders are married with children who attend primary or secondary school. Some 70 per cent regularly buy through mail order and holiday in places which offer child facilities.

SWEEP SIX


Evolution DM has released the Sweep Six file, which holds 7,000 monthly hotline buyers. All consumers have purchased a personal report based on the 'cycle of luck' and have entered into a £3,750 sweepstake. Individuals are aged 55-plus and are either married, divorced or widowed. They are retired and have a household income of less than £20,000. They read papers such as the Sport, The Sun, the Daily Star, the Mirror and the Daily Mail and their hobbies include cooking, wildlife, voluntary work and travelling abroad. They also donate to charities. Individuals are recruited via direct mail.

OFFERX


Online quiz website OfferX.co.uk has released its membership data through HJ Marketing. OfferX gives members the opportunity to enter quizzes across 15 categories such as music, football, food and drink and politics. Those with the highest score can win prizes including iPods and holidays. The file holds 203,000 records of 0-12-month recency. Members are typically aged between 20 and 45 and a high percentage are credit card users. They are online buyers who have opted in to receive third-party offers. Email addresses are also available.


Base rental price: £130 per 1,000 (postal), £200 per 1,000 (email).

INVOX AFFINITY CHARITY


The Invox Affinity Charity list has become available to rent through Evolution DM. Invox is a consumer DM competition company and each individual on the file is a verified charity donor. Almost half the 220,000 competition entrants are aged 45-plus. They also have children or grandchildren and occupations include office/clerical, housewife, or retired. Household income is typically less than £20,000 and credit card usage is low. Newspaper readership includes the Daily Express, News of the World, Sunday People, and the Mirror.


Their interests include competitions, cookery, DIY and collectables.


Base rental price: £120 per 1,000.

BUSINESS


MOBILE WORKFORCE


Conduit has launched the Mobile Workforce database which comprises of 26,000 records of companies whose workforce spends a large amount of time on the move. The database was built from Conduit's Fleet database and firms on the file include mobile telecommunications providers, accommodation and fuel suppliers.


Base rental price: £140 per 1,000 (single use), £295 per 1,000 (12-month lease).

REFRESHED LISTS - CONSUMER


KEN MUIR


The Ken Muir list of mail order buyers now offers 13,252 0-12-month names through Isis Direct. Ken Muir supplies fruit stocks, ornamental trees and garden accessories. Customers are mostly middle-aged affluent homeowners with high disposable incomes. On average they spend £50-plus per order.


Base rental price: £100-£120 per 1,000.

CATALINK


The Catalink file has been updated and now holds more than 140,000 mail order buyers. Catalink is an internet portal for mail order enthusiasts.


The list is managed by Go Direct Marketing and individuals have proactively sourced a website which allows them to access additional catalogues. Email addresses and telephone numbers are available and the file offers more than 100,000 0-12-month names. The list can be segmented into fashion, charity, gardening, children, leisure and gifts.


Base rental price: £100 per 1,000.

LETTERBOX


The Letterbox list, which is managed by Isis Direct, has been updated to 104,645 buyers. Letterbox is a mail order and internet company which sells items for children, including bed linen, dressing-up clothes, stationery, toys and games. Customers are parents who spend an average £64 per order.


They are mostly females and 44 per cent are aged under 34. They are typically young mothers and homeowners, and almost half have two cars or more. More than 65 per cent are charity donors and their interests include the theatre and arts, books, cookery, and current affairs. Names are generated through DM and page space advertising in titles such as Good Housekeeping, Country Living, and The Telegraph, Daily Mail, as well as the national baby and children's interest press.

CONSUMER PREFERENCE


The Preference Service's consumer preference database now holds seven million records. The file offers information on consumer preferences, attitudes and demographics, as well as consumer requests for specific offers. Individuals on the database receive regular surveys allowing them to update their preferences.

ONE UP GOLF


Isis Direct's One Up Golf list now carries 15,706 0-12-month buyers and enquirers. One Up Golf is a mail order catalogue that offers golf clothes and accessories for women, including cotton sweaters, shorts, sports tops and sunglasses. It also sells caps, visors, gloves, belts and socks. Average order value is £70. Customers are affluent females mostly aged 40-plus.


A large percentage are professionals with high disposable incomes and their interests include travel, entertainment and the arts.

NEWLY MANAGED


PRIMELOCATION


Avongate now manages the Primelocation.com list, which holds 85,000 postal records and 152,000 email records. Primelocation.com is a property portal for the mid-market segments of the property market and the majority of registered users are affluent homeowners with household incomes above the national average. The file is evenly split between males and females who are mostly aged between 25 and 40. Almost three-quarters of the file are searching for a house valued between £100,000-500,000, and 50 per cent for homes of more than £250,000.

BOSCH


Bosch, the manufacturer of power tools and electrical appliances, has appointed Caspian LDM to manage its list of buyers. Bosch has collated the data using a product registration programme and customers have bought lawn and garden products as well as power tools. Individuals are predominantly aged between 35 and 64, with an average income of between £20,000-£30,000. They are either retired or have senior level occupations and are mostly males. There are 119,500 names available of those that have bought lawn and garden products, and a further 28,800 names of those who have purchased power tools.


Base rental price: £125 per 1,000.

BELLA VALORE


The Bella Valore list of 18,603 buyers is now available through Isis Direct. The Bella Valore catalogue and website offers maternity wear as well as nursery and children's products. Customers are mostly affluent females who are pregnant or are young mothers. Average order value is £65-plus and many multi-buyers order three or four times a year.


Base rental price: £115 per 1,000.

THE FAMILY FILE


MMS is the new manager of The Family File. The database, which holds 262,411 records of households with children, is sourced from Experian's generic and lifestyle surveys and holds a range of family data. Almost half the families' children are in pre-school or junior school, and the same amount is in senior school. The majority of families have a pet and 80 per cent read a daily newspaper. Individuals are mostly aged between 26-30.


Base rental price: £130 per 1,000.

PDV


MMS has won the management of the PDV file, a 285,692 postal address database of UK online consumers who have registered with PDV entertainment sites. These include thedailydraw.com, strikermillion.com and scratchandmatch.com.


Competition entrants are recruited through data collection partnerships with online companies and individuals have agreed to view ads in return for the chance to win prizes. Visitors are mostly aged between 26-35, are home PC users and interested in fashion, travel, music and DIY.

INSERTS


MR BRIDGE


The Mr Bridge member's magazine is now accepting inserts for its monthly catalogue mailings through Independent Direct Marketing. Bridge is the official magazine mailed to all members of the Mr Bridge club who are affluent bridge players. Features include software and book reviews, quizzes and competitions related to the game. Customers are recruited via advertising in The Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and specialist magazines.


Base rental price: £45 per 1,000.


Volume: Monthly mailings of 60,000.
