LONDON - Napster has produced a series of downloadable discussion shows on the state of the UK music industry hosted by DJ Steve Lamacq.

Called 'Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the MP3 Player' the programme, featuring regular contributions from journalists Miranda Sawyer and the NME's Keith Cameron, is being made available at napster.co.uk.

The inaugural show features guests Daniel Beddingfield and Estelle and topics being discussed include musicians as brands, the summer music festival season and whether urban music is the new pop.

The programme has been commissioned by Napster international programming director Jeff Smith and has been produced by Mark Goodier for Wise Buddah.

"It is essential that Napster maintains and extends its reputation for unparalleled content and programming. This new series of production is very much in line with our principles of empowering our members to listen to what they want, when they want," Smith said.
