LONDON – Sports marketing agency Sportsvision is adding a live Nokia-sponsored music event with acts including Razorlight and James Blunt to its Rip Curl Boardmasters festival in Newquay this summer.

The week-long surf festival will culminate with Nokia Unleashed on August 5 and 6, where rock acts Razorlight and Rooster, solo artist James Blunt and surfer/singer/songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter will headline.

The festival will showcase a Freestyle Motocross Session by the Bolddog Lings FMX team, where the UK's best riders will undertake 120-foot jumps on their one-of-a-kind jump ramp.

In addition, world-class skaters will compete for $20,000 prize money in the Vans Summer Session Vert competition, sponsored by urban shoe brand Vans.

The Rip Curl Boardmasters, now in its 25th year, runs from August 1-7 and is set around two major surf competitions, the 5 Star Rip Curl Pro and 5 Star Nokia Pro, where the world's best male and female surfers will compete for $125,000 in prize money.

Separately, Foster's is sponsoring the Foster's Beach Bar and Barbie and official Boardmasters parties during the event and IPC lads' mag Nuts is returning to sponsor the Boardmasters Babes bikini contest.

Tickets for Nokia Unleashed are available from Ticketmaster and cost £19 for the Friday and £25 for the Saturday.

More live acts will be announced over the coming weeks.
