Hello launches celebrity news and pictures Wap service

LONDON - Hello! is launching a Wap service as part of an expansion of its online presence, allowing people to get the latest celebrity news and pictures while on the move.

The celebrity magazine's website, which has daily news updates, is to add Wap to a mobile services range that already includes SMS and Java services.

The Wap service, available by texting "GO HELLOMAG" to 85080, will be updated daily and gives users access to eight celebrity stories and photos from Monday to Friday.

The service, as well as the Java and SMS offerings, has been developed by PlayerMedia.

Tree Elven, Hello's website editor, said: "We're really happy to be adding Wap to our mobile offer and we'll soon be beefing it up even more with wallpapers, ringtones and other entertaining stuff."

She added: "We're pumping out great pics and authoritative news every day on hellomagazine.com -- people don't want to miss the latest titbits just because they're on the go, so a Wap site is the perfect solution. Celeb-thirsty fans can check the headlines then go in deeper if they want the full story with photos."
