Kelkoo offers mobile comparison service

Yahoo! UK and Ireland has unveiled the first price comparison service on WAP in Europe.

The new mobile service will enable customers to check product prices on
the move from their handset.

All of the price and product information is supplied by Kelkoo, which
currently holds a 43.8 share of the shopping comparison sector,

according to figures from Hitwise.

The WAP service will include access to more than three million product
offers and more than 5,000 UK retailers. The service can be accessed via
http://wap.yahoo.co.uk.

Dorothea Arndt, director of search and distribution at Kelkoo, said:
"Our research shows that a lot of people carry out cross-channel
comparisons.

From that idea, we decided to offer price comparison to people on the
move and WAP was the obvious choice."

The UK has the highest level of mobile internet adoption in the whole of
Europe, with 15 per cent of mobile users browsing from their phones,
according to Forrester Europe's mobile research this June.

The service will be accessible on all WAP-enabled phones at standard
browsing rates.
