BDI launches group to promote creative collaboration

LONDON - The British Design Initiative has launched British Design Innovation, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to encourage members involved in innovation across creative fields to come together and demonstrate the power of strategic design.

Existing members of product, brand, new-media, packaging and service design agencies will be joined by in-house teams from industry and academics.

Paul Pankhurst, executive chairman of PDD Group, will chair the new organisation, which is seeking to promote collaboration within the UK.

An Innovation Directory will be available on the group's website to provide a private environment for members seeking partners in collaborative projects.

The directory will share the same space with the Design Agency Directory and the Design Graduate Directory.

BDI will also be partnering with several universities to create a collaborative project fund.
