Telegraph raids Sunday Times for new City editor
LONDON - The Daily Telegraph has appointed The Sunday Times's business editor William Lewis as the replacement for long-standing City editor Neil Collins, who left the paper earlier this month.
Lewis will have the job title of assistant editor (business) at the Barclay brothers-owned daily.
"I am delighted that Will is joining us," Martin Newland, editor of The Daily Telegraph, said. "He has enormous energy and a remarkable CV for a man of 36. He will lead an unrivalled and dedicated business team."

However, Newland is expected to make significant investment to improve the business section. The move is part of a paper-wide attempt to boost its sales.
Lewis spent three years as business editor at The Sunday Times. Prior to that he was at the Financial Times for eight-and-a-half years, where he filled a number of positions including global news editor, mergers and acquisitions editor and investment correspondent. Prior to working at the FT, he worked at the Mail on Sunday.
Former Daily Telegraph City editor Neil Collins left the paper earlier this month after 19 years. He is reported not to have got on with Newland, who joined the paper in 2003. Collins is to write a regular column for the Evening Standard.
