Lowe hands Nokia job to Teresa Alpert

by Emma Barns, Campaign 12-Aug-05

Lowe Worldwide has raided Ogilvy & Mather's planning department, appointing Teresa Alpert to oversee a section of its Nokia business.

Alpert was the worldwide planning director at O&M, based at its New York
office, and joins Lowe to head strategic planning on the international
Nokia Nseries business. Nokia's multimedia division includes technology

such as 3G and megapixel cameras.

Based in the London office and reporting to Tony Wright, the president
and chief executive of Lowe Worldwide, Alpert will be responsible for
the strategic development of the business across all partner Interpublic
companies.

Before moving to O&M, Alpert also worked at DDB Worldwide, where she
headed planning on Compaq, Mobil Oil and Reuters. Before that, she
worked on L'Oreal at McCann Erickson New York, and also as the marketing
director at the US telecoms company Nynex.

Wright said: "Teresa is a strategic planner who thinks naturally beyond
advertising. Plus, London needs some more American planners to balance
out the exodus in the other direction over the past two decades."

Alpert added: "Tony has great vision and is clear about where he intends
to take the network, worldwide."
