FT targets online investors

The Financial Times Group is to target European investors with a new online service produced in partnership with MarketWatch.com.The service, which will provide realtime financial and market news to investors across Europe, will launch in the UK before July and be extended to France and Germany later in the year. It will focus on companies within the telecoms, internet and media sectors.The new site will be modelled on MarketWatch.com’s US service, CBSMarketWatch.com, which currently has 4.6 million unique monthly users. It will be managed by Zac Leonard, who launched the FTGroup’s personal finance website YourMoney.com, while CBSMarketwatch.com’s editor in chief Thom Calandra will take up a similar role on the new service.
