UKTV channels go interactive
UKTV channels go interactive
UKTV is to add interactive features on all its channels through a partnership with Go Interact tv, formerly Sony Digital Interactive Broadband Services. Viewers of the seven channels provided by UKTV - Flextech and the BBC's joint venture - including UK Gold, UK Horizons and UK Style, will be able to access enhanced information, quizzes, additional programme-linked material and programme schedules for the whole of UKTV.

The move follows market research carried out by UKTV, which showed that further information about programmes and schedules was the service most viewers wanted from interactive TV. Flextech's parent company Telewest is also set to launch a series of licensed pay-per-play and subscription games on its network in the coming months, through an agreement with the TV entertainment company e-district.
This will also extend the existing LeisureDistrict community service, providing subscription-based chat and other messaging services.
Additionally, SceneOne, Flextech Interactive's e-commerce entertainment brand carried on the web, TV and mobile phone, is to run what it claims will be a world first - an interactive TV advertorial campaign on behalf of the Flextech channels.
Running this Christmas, the campaign will feature three separate creatives which will run on Living, Bravo, Sky One, Sky Movies and Sky News and will link directly to the SceneOne shop on Sky Active.
SceneOne is also to offer exclusive Hamleys merchandise via interactive TV on the Flextech channels Living and Bravo, from November 5.
