Havas resigns Intel account

France-based agency network Havas has relinquished control of its high profile creative and media planning and buying account for computer hardware giant Intel.

The £168m global account, which is run by Media Planning Group (media) and Euro RSCG Worldwide (creative), has been under review by Intel bosses.

But Havas admitted in a statement that Intel’s “drive towards business transformation” would probably lead to a change in control of the account.

The statement added: “After much consideration, Euro RSCG decided its talent and resources would be better focused on our current clients and the high-profile new business competitions we are involved in.

“Our teams at Euro RSCG Worldwide and MPG will continue to provide Intel with the highest levels of support through the transition.”

Havas has been involved with Intel since 1991 and has been at the forefront of the company’s successful blanket branding campaign featuring the “Intel Inside” slogan.

The agency network added: “We feel the longevity, success, and productivity of our relationship across all disciplines and geographies have been unique in our industry, and will serve us well in the future.”
