The Extreme Sports Channel has appointed online sales company EType to sell all advertising space on its popular Extreme.com website.

EType, which won the account from incumbent Ad-2-One, has been charged with focusing towards so-called rich media, integrations and site-specific campaigns.

The deal adds to EType’s growing portfolio of online brands including Friends Reunited, Visit London, Multimap and Miniclip.

Will Vicary, commercial director for the Extreme Sports Channel, said: “We’ve worked hard on adding rich media and community elements, appealing to our loyal audience, 90% of which have broadband.

“We’ve an exciting range of initiatives in progress and are thrilled to be working with an agency as prestigious as EType.”

The site regularly logs around 2.5 million page impressions per month and has over 300,000 unique users.

Robert Gay, head of EType, added: “Advertisers are always looking for something unique and extreme.com certainly delivers!

“No other site in the UK is as dedicated to extreme sports coverage, something that appeals to both the lucrative youth and sports markets.”
