The deal is in major contrast to that of the Sun Online’s most popular sections, Page3.com, but is another indication of the importance being directed at online operations at mainstream and traditionally print-only media owners.
Amy Copeland, head of commercial development for News Group Digital, said: “Managing money is a key issue for everybody and The Sun Online is keen to offer its readers access to high quality, easy to use and accurate systems for the purchase of personal finance products.”
Mark Fleet, managing director of Moneyextra, added: “Our online comparison tools are backed up by our own dedicated call centre, staffed by qualified independent financial advisers. We’re looking forward to helping Sun readers get great financial deals.”
