The Sci-Fi Channel revealed today it has signed a deal with Nintendo to support its new game, Resident Evil 4, including a three-city horror film tour.

Developed by Sci-Fi Brand Solutions and Starcom, Nintendo begins a month-long sponsorship of Sci Fi’s evening programming on 28 February.

Michelle Hobbs, account manager at Starcom said: “We wanted to convey the possession theme of the new Resident Evil game by creating and owning scary media environments.

“The integrated Evil Evolves activity with Pearl and Dean and Sci-Fi has offered us the perfect vehicle in which to bring this strategy to life.

“This activity gives our audience the opportunity to interact with this much anticipated Resident Evil game and hopefully be entertained and surprised at the same time.”

The Evil Evolves film tour will include an eclectic mix of classic and contemporary horror films, including The Exorcist and Alien, travelling to different cities across the UK.

The film tour will be promoted in each city three weeks prior to the weekend with local marketing consisting of posters, leaflets, local press, online activity and reader offers.
