The NME is teaming up with MTV2 to broadcast a daily alternative chart show, available from August 3.
The chart will be compiled by readers of the magazine and channel's viewers through an internet voting system.
The deal will be promoted as a saviour for alternative music fans fed up with the mainstream UK pop singles chart.
Additional material will be contained within the show every evening, including breaking music news and exclusive premieres of videos.
The chart will also be published in the NME each week.
