Schoonmaker resurfaces as Odeon CEO

He unexpectedly departed as chief executive at Emap Performance in January, after growing the business considerably in recent years.

He is well known for his outspoken views on media and his appointment will be seen as a coup for the cinema chain.

Speculation up until now suggested that he would be part of a team of investors in the market to purchase strategic radio assets.
