Wallpaper slaps up online edition

Wallpaper magazine unveils a new addition to their portfolio with the launch of www.wallpaper.com this week.

 

Bosses claim the website, which is designed by I-D Media and built by IPC Media’s ignite! development team, will complement the magazine rather than duplicate it.

 

The new site will draw on the expertise of the magazine’s editorial team, and will be updated weekly, containing features on interiors, design, travel, architecture and fashion.

 

It will also aim to provide both regular readers and design-savvy web users with an online directory to the title’s essentials.

 

Richard Johnstone, publishing director of the Wallpaper Group, said: “Wallpaper is often used as a point of reference by the international design community.

 

“As a result, wallpaper.com will meet this demand by giving people access to our content, whilst also allowing us further extend and market the Wallpaper brand.”

 

Lex De Wynter, from I-D Media, added: “The challenge of this project was to translate the magazine’s unique design aesthetic into the digital domain, without compromising usability or functionality.

 

“We are delighted to be working with Wallpaper and believe that wallpaper.com will become a powerful and compelling brand in its own right.”
