Practical Parenting unveils a new look and broader remit

LONDON – Practical Parenting has unveiled a new look for its November issue with a fresh cover and logo and a revamped editorial giving the IPC Media title a broader lifestyle remit.

The editorial revamp builds on the magazine's transformation, which began with the arrival of editor Mara Lee in June 2004, and is designed to give the magazine a new friendlier, inspiring tone, moving away from the expert-led tradition towards a more reader-focused lifestyle magazine.

The new Practical Parenting sees a number of editorial and design changes including a bigger pregnancy section, a new fashion and beauty section, as well as a bigger combined baby and child section covering newborn to four years.

The revamp also sees the magazine move to a smaller size, changing from a slightly over-sized format to a more portable magazine.

"We've introduced a number of new writers and columnists who, while experienced journalists in the consumer magazine industry, are fresh to the parenting market. The result is a breath of fresh air in a market that is notorious for not looking further beyond a small shared pool of writers and topics," Lee said.

The November issue of Practical Parenting goes on sale today, priced £2.45, and is bagged with a free week-by-week pregnancy planner.
