BBC relaunches television website to showcase programming
LONDON - The BBC has relaunched its bbc.co.uk/tv site, as it moves towards showcasing its TV programmes online with exclusive online clips of new shows.
The new site will offer users the opportunity to watch exclusive web previews of upcoming programmes, such as BBC Four's 'The Thick of It' and BBC Three's 'Nighty Night', as well as interactive programmes previously only available under the red button.

In addition, users will be able to watch catch-up clips of 'Top of The Pops' and 'EastEnders', previews of seasons like 'The Lost Decade' and clips from classic shows like 'Doctor Who'.
Emma Somerville, head of interactive programming, said: "I am absolutely delighted with the result -- the new website is design to give users the best TV-related experience to be found on bbc.co.uk.
"This brings us closer to the day when we can offer our viewers the choice of which platform they would like to watch their favourite programme on."
The site will allow users access to all BBC programmes and web pages, as well as full listings and information about digital TV, the licence fee, audience tickets and BBC tours.
Additionally, the BBC has appointed Jonathan Kingsbury, currently head of editorial affairs, as head of external supply for new media.
The new role will champion the cause of external suppliers to the BBC's new-media division.
As part of his role, Kingsbury will encourage the BBC's commissioning teams to use external as well as internal producers; ensure independent companies are properly represented within the BBC and that commissioners are aware of new suppliers; and also collate feedback on the process from the BBC and the industry.
