LONDON - Total Film has launched a new totalfilm.com website for cinema and DVD fans, offering daily movie news alongside top competitions and reviews of the very latest films and DVDs.

Totalfilm.com includes a fully searchable Total Film review archive, which spans eight years, 108 issues and 5,000 reviews dating back to when the magazine was first launched.

Future, publisher of Total Film, is planning further developments for the New Year, likely to include multimedia broadband.

Simon Maxwell, publisher of Total Film, said: "Movies are a highly visual medium and lend themselves well to the internet, thanks to mass penetration of broadband connections. The website allows the Total Film team to interact with readers and will enable us to build on the current sales success of the magazine."

He added: "The website is also an excellent opportunity to further boost our relationship with key advertising partners and the film industry itself."

The site is being edited by online editor Liz Hawkins, who joined the company earlier this year from rental giant Blockbuster's UK website and online store to project manage and build the Total Film website.

David Maher Roberts, new-media publishing director, said: "Future's new-media strategy is mainly focused on capturing the attention of enthusiasts in the entertainment, gadgets and technology sectors, and the addition of totalfilm.com to our stable of sites has broadened our offering to consumers and advertisers alike."
