The UK version of Wired, the magazine which positioned itself as
the publication for the next century, is being scrapped less than two
years after it launched.
The title, introduced by US publisher Wired Ventures in April 1995, has

been in trouble since falling out with its launch partner Guardian Media
Group in August 1995. It reported losses of around pounds 2m for its UK
and Japan editions last year.
Wired has not submitted any ABC figures since June 1995, when
circulation stood at 29,712.
It had approached several UK publishers including Conde Nast, whose
holding company has a 10% share in Wired Ventures, and Dennis
Publishing, but none were prepared to bail out the title.

I hope it becomes a better magazine than the last interation in 95-97, when it seemed to be a platform for prognosticating poseurs, preaching platitudes pertaining to piss-all.
