Homechoice, the on-demand TV and broadband supplier, is adding the Sci-Fi Channel to its portfolio of stations.

The move comes soon after a major expansion of the Homechoice network was announced by owner Video Networks and with reports suggesting BSkyB as a possible suitor for the business.

The Sci-Fi Channel will go live on Homechoice on 14 November.

Jonathan Sykes, managing director for content strategy at Homechoice, said: "We're delighted to be offering the SCI FI channel's thrilling mix of blockbuster films and big name programming to our customers for the first time.

"The channel will sit alongside Homechoice's already excellent line-up of broadcast, own branded and general video on-demand channels, extending the breadth and range of content even further."

Homechoice has grown steadily in recent years following its initial launch in selected parts of London.

It is currently available in up to 2.4 million homes in the London and Stevenage areas of the South East and Video Networks is looking to roll out the service in other areas of the country in the future.

Nick Betts, managing director at Sci-Fi Channel, added: "We're hugely excited to be joining Homechoice's portfolio of channels.

"This significant agreement extends our reach onto a flourishing new platform and makes Sci Fi and its programming available to even more people."
