Tesco backs clothes range with gift finder

Tesco has launched an online gift-finder facility for its clothing range in time for Christmas.

The finder, on Tesco's clothes site (www.tesco.com/clothing), which
launched in April, allows shoppers to select items from the Cherokee,
Florence + Fred and F+F for Men lines.

Shoppers can choose the type of person the gift is for and their price

range, and the finder will suggest a range of ideas, accompanied by

images.

There is also a store locator.

The service is being promoted by email to Tesco's database and text
alerts may follow.

Tesco also plans to integrate its CRM email and text capabilities into
one system next year.

The company recently made headlines when it launched 44 separate
email-marketing campaigns in a month, equating to 16-20 million
emails.

The new finder service was developed by agency WARL evolution, whose
project director, Keith Chamarette, said: "The gift finder showcases
specific clothing ranges while promoting Clothing at Tesco as a
destination when shopping for gifts for the family. Although the site is
non-transactional, it gives people a good taste of what is available and
shows them their nearest store."
