Former Tequila chairman Reid takes chief executive role at Cannes
LONDON - Penny Reid, former chairman of Tequila London, has been named as the chief executive of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.
Reid succeeds Terry Savage, who was promoted to the role of executive chairman in the summer. He had been chief executive since before the festival was acquired by Emap in 2004 for £52.5m.
Her appointment comes as the festival expands further, with the addition of a sales promotion competition in 2006.

Her experience in the industry stretches back 20 years and includes roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, BMP DDB, TBWA\GGT and Tequila London, which she left earlier this year.
"This is in line with our announcement earlier in the year that we would strengthen our management team and ensure a succession plan was in place," Savage said.
She will join the festival in early January.
