LONDON - Lowe CEO Tony Wright has appointed Bert Moore from fellow Interpublic agency Weber Shandwick to be its deputy chief strategic officer.

Moore joins troubled Lowe next week from the PR network Weber Shandwick, where he is senior vice-president of strategy and creative. He will report to Chris Chard, chief strategy officer at Lowe, and is based in London.

He is charged with helping Lowe's multinational clients to use the agency's branding ideas across all communications fields. At Weber Shandwick, his role extended across a number of Interpublic companies, including FutureBrand, Jack Morton and Octagon.

Wright, president and CEO of Lowe Worldwide, said: "Bert's career path to date means that he brings with him a very impressive breadth and depth of experience, which fits perfectly with Lowe's objective to offer our clients new ways to develop their businesses, on a global level."

Moore began his career at the management consultancy DDH, before moving into PR. He spent seven years at Cohn & Wolfe before joining WPP's Burson Marsteller, where he rose to head of the brand marketing practice.

After a stint running his own PR agency, Purple Patch, Moore joined Weber Shandwick in 2003, taking the post of director of the consumer practice in Europe. He was promoted to the senior vice-president role in 2004.
