City AM launches daily news podcast service

LONDON - City AM, the London freesheet business paper, is launching a podcast service offering City workers a five-minute bulletin summarising the day's financial news.

Offered in association with retail investment fund Threadneedle Investments, the City PM download will also provide a preview of the next day's paper, which can be listened to on the way home.

The podcast will be available to download from CityAM.com and Threadneedle.co.uk free of charge. Threadneedle Investments will run a sponsored message in the opening and closing sequences of the podcast, which is recorded in the style of a radio news bulletin and produced by broadcast journalist Giles McMullen.

Jeremy Phillips, City AM sales and marketing director, said: "Launching a podcast makes perfect sense for City AM, as our online reader research shows that more than half of our readers own iPods or MP3 players. It also allows us to satisfy the demand for City AM news outside our City of London and Canary Wharf distribution points."
