Cosmetic surgery group brings in Tangerine

Britain’s biggest cosmetic surgery is revamping its PR arrangements to make its brand stand out in a fast-growing and increasingly competitive market.

Manchester-based Transform Medical Group has brought in local PR firm Tangerine PR to handle media relations.

Transform has 21 clinics in the UK, with breast enlargement a core part of its offering. For men, rhinoplasty is popular.

It is particularly keen to target potential female patients through a media programme targeting women's and health pages.

'We hope to expand knowledge on procedures and the latest surgical and non-surgical innovations,' said Transform marketing director Elizabeth Dale.

Tangerine won the account in a competitive pitch that included two-year incumbent Golley Slater.

In late 2005, Transform was criticised by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons for 'trivialising' cosmetic surgery by introducing a patient loyalty scheme.
